I found my old college sketchbook from the year before on product design. The project was about helping a charity promote their cause and raise awareness and money towards it. The idea of a product never went through as the client prefered an app rather than a product like charity bracelettes, badges, bags, etc.
I have a sketchbook full of product research and a few product designers. Most of the designers have not created a futuristic product but it can still help with their process on creating a product.

Process of a product design |
I've researched the steps of the process of product design. Designers must consider;
- The brief
- Product Design Specification
- Concept Design
- Testing
- Detail Design
- Manufacturing
- Refinement & Sales
- Prototype
I will be doing roughly 3 of these stages as the product is not real so cannot test. I also must look at the Product ~Design Specification document, which considers the target market, safety, problem and solution and a guide to designing a concept. A better in look at these stages can be found here http://beejaymolding.com/design-process.html
I have looked at some designers starting point in their careers and their timelines as well as their products.

I had also looked at package design for products on how they promoted their designs or the clients. This helps the marketing and the advertisements on each product and can create something that is unique.

I also researched a package designer in college called Yeongheun Jeong who helped created the AD sleeve for Starbucks and Uniqlo.

He also created a very helpful invention for butter when out and about. It's useful for picnics and fit and your pocket. The lid of the butter becomes a spread knife that can spread the butter on anything and saves bringing cutlery.

This sketchbook is very handy to keep as it can help me research certain designers as well as programs to use when designing. Hopefully the new sketchbook will be as full as this one with the research. I am currently looking at a few science magazines to help inspire some designs and what the people want in the future.
